WE OWN IT! Sign petition to take water back into public ownership

If you live in England, every time you turn on the tap, you’re lining the pockets of the privatised water companies and their shareholders.

But the tide is turning! Across the world, communities are taking back control of water – and the Labour party has promised to bring water into public ownership.

83% of us want water in public ownership. There’s never been a better time to build a movement behind this.

The water industry is going on the attack. They don’t want to lose out on £1.8 billion a year in profits. If we’re going to win, we need to ramp up the pressure on government and industry and show how much the public cares about this issue. Our new SplashMob campaign will do just that.

Scotland already has publicly owned water, as does Northern Ireland, and in Wales it’s a not for profit. If you’re in one of those countries, please sign the petition to show your support for public ownership across the whole of the UK!

We’re really excited about this campaign. Water belongs to all of us. Let’s make a splash until we own it.

PS We’re waiting to hear the government’s decision on whether to privatise the Ministry of Defence fire service – we’ll keep you updated.
