Join us at our next event in our fight to Stop and Scrap Universal Credit!
When? 11am til 1pm Tuesday 12th March
Where? outside Bailey Court Job Centre on West Street
As the Government’s flagship new policy Universal Credit is increasingly exposed for the massive cut on benefits that it is, and the Government is put increasingly on the defensive, a new battlefront has been opened. PCS members at the country’s two main Universal Credit processing centres at Walsall and Wolverhampton have balloted for strike action over under-staffing and workload pressures. They will be out on strike on Tuesday 12th March so this is a good day to stage our 2nd rally and show support for PCS workers at the same time! Come and join us please! We will be leafleting claimants and the public – and yet again making a public demand that we stop and scrap Universal Credit!
STOP PRESS: PCS members voted over 90% for strike action! See PCS press release here:
Please see attached a model motion which we ask you to take to you union/Labour branch or other organisation. It calls for your organisation to support our campaign by signing up to our objectives. It also asks for donations to help us fund this vital campaign. Cheques can be made to Sheffield Trade Union Council as we do not have an account for SSSUC. Sheffield TUC can manage the SSSUC funds separately which will be reported to at each planning meeting.
