“It affects us all!”

Thanks to everyone for making this campaign a success. We have brought together a brilliant coalition of trade union branches, Labour and other party branches and a number of campaign organisations to fight back against universal credit. We don’t want it tinkering with. We don’t want them to pause and think. We say STOP AND SCRAP UNIVERSAL CREDIT!

Together with a £50 donation from Gleadless valley Labour Party, we will have enough money for an urgent reprint of our excellent leaflet Sheffield Stop & Scrap UC Leaflet We need further financial help to obtain a banner and placards. Our first community stall at Firth Park on 20th March was a great success. We met many local people directly affected by Universal Credit who were very keen to stop and talk. We learnt directly from claimants about their experiences, but also shared our vision for a better fairer system.
