Message from Karen Reay, UNITE Regional Secretary:

“You’ll have recently seen the news about the crisis in the UK steel industry.  In our region, thousands of our members are affected.   Demonstrations have been taking place across the region and a lobby of Parliament was held last week.

On Saturday 21 November 2015 a rally is being held at Sheffield City Hall and it would be great to have a strong presence from all our members to show support to the steel workers.  The rally is from 2.00pm until 5.00pm.

Families are welcome to come along to the event, which is going to celebrate the steel and metal industry and send a strong message to the Government to ‘Save our Steel’.  There will be speakers, music and face painting for the children.”
