Monday 27th March   3rd Anniversary Rally South Yorkshire Freedom Riders

12 noon by the fountains outside Sheffield Rail Station. Public transport campaigners fought and won against massive cuts to elderly persons travel. The fight continues for free travel for elderly/disabled, cheap fares and a publicly owned bus and rail network. Guest speaker Tosh MacDonald ASLEF.  Monday 27th March “Stop Education Cuts in Sheffield” NUT Public Meeting

6pm St Mary’s Community Centre, Brammall Lane S2 4QZ. Simon Murch NUT Branch Sec says; “We want to build a campaign involving teachers, parents, campaign groups and politicians to

oppose cuts of £326 per pupil and a loss of 596 teachers in Sheffield”.  See flyer

Thursday 30th March “STOP Benefit Sanctions” National Day of Action

National events organised by UNITE Community. Assemble 5pm Manor Top, Sheffield. STOP cruel Benefit Sanctions! Half a million people had benefits stopped in last 12 months! Tuesday 4th April  Climate Change Workshop : international perspectives

Friday 28th April   International Workers Memorial Day

1230hrs outside Sheffield Town Hall, Pinstone Street, Sheffield. Wreath laying ceremony and speeches on workplace health and safety issues. “Remember the dead, fight for the living”. Opened by Lord Mayor of Sheffield. Union branches are encouraged to bring wreaths to lay at the Memorial Tree
