Friday 10th July Eve of Miners Gala public meeting on history
6pm – 7.30pm Durham City Methodist Church, 8 Old Elvet, Durham, DH1 3HL
Rise will be at Durham Miners’ Gala and on the eve of the Gala, we’re
hosting an essential conversation about the past, present and future of
working-class struggle.
The political, economic & social period we’re living through is
overwhelming. It’s hard to know where to begin. How do we build power?
How do we challenge the conditions shaping our lives and communities?
We’re bringing together voices from historic struggles including those
involved in the 1984–85 Miners’ Strike alongside organisers of working
class struggle today. We’ll explore the lessons of the past and how we
use that wisdom to win now.
Speaker details coming soon.
