Tuesday 8th November Sheffield Needs a Pay Rise Coordinating Committee

Following our extraordinalrily successful launch meeting with John McDonneell MP on 14th October, we are now having our inaugural SNAP Coordinating Committee meeting to plan our next events. This is meeting is open to all who feel they want to be active and involved in this hugely important campaing.

“We’ve got dates for mapping on Fargate on 5th, 10th, 12th, 16th 25th. All at 1pm and meet at the top of Fargate. I’m happy to coordinate all of these, but will not be able to lead each one. As such I’m happy to be contacted via my email or via my number 07710479259, and will be contacting other activists to lead on some of these as I won’t be able to be there for all these dates.”

South Yorkshire Migration Asylum Action Group (SYMAAG) is having a party to celebrate its 10th anniversaryand we’d like to invite all of our supporters to come. Including you!

Over the last 10 years we have worked for refugee and migrant rights in the UK and beyond. We have:

  •   Supported the struggles of refugees for safety, dignity and justice ·    Helped increase public understanding of how refugees are treated in the UK ·   Educated ourselves and others about the global conflicts and injustices that push people to leave their home countries

Traditional British music; Professional Salsa dancing.Iranian pop music, Syrian and Kurdish music. And Iranian traditional food.

We’d like you to join us. There is no entry fee but we welcome your donations to support our work. You are welcome to bring your own drinks

Guest Speakers: Eileen Turnbull Shrewsbury 24 Campaign . 24 pickets were arrested after the 1972 national building workers strike and charged with conspiracy. Some including Ricky Tomlinson and Des Warren were jailed. The call for justice is as relevant today as it was then.

David Etherington – Austerity and Devolution. David presents the major findings of his research into the effects on local communities of a City Region Devolution deal that devolves central government’s austerity spending cuts onto our local government structures.
