Saturday 11th March Shut Down Morton Hall detention centre!

National demonstration at Morton Hall Immigration Detention Centre Lincolnshire LN6 9PT to show solidarity with those detained and to demand “Shut Down Detention Centres” 12noon – 3.30pm 2 deaths in 6 weeks. Enough! Full Sheffield transport details: coach leaves 10am prompt outside Crucible Theatre, Norfolk Street Sheffield. Free to asylum seekers/unwaged. £10 waged. Return to Sheffield by 5pm. Saturday 18 March 2017 Stand Up To Racism National Demonstration  London Stand Up To Racism has called a national demonstration to coincide with the UN Anti-Racism Day.  Transport from Sheffield  8am outside The Hubs, Paternoster Way, Sheffield https://www.facebook.com/events/184205885395640/

Over 50 MPs, Peers, trade unionists and Jewish and Muslim leaders have joined together in backing a ‘Stand Up to Trump Stand Up to Racism’ demonstration. The Statement is backed by Doreen Lawrence, Rabbi Lee Wax and members of The Muslim Council of Britain and is supported by Shadow Cabinet Members Diane Abbott, Emily Thornberry, Clive Lewis as well as leading backbenchers Chuka Umunna, Lisa Nandy, Bill Morris, Neil Kinnock and Peter Hain and trade union leaders including the National Union of Teachers Kevin Courtney and Unite’s Len McCluskey.
