Banner Theatre’s “Rise like Lions”,
Thursday 16th November 7.30pm – doors open 6.45pm (bar open)
Trades and Labour Club, 200 Duke Street Sheffield S2 3GA
“Rise Like Lions” is coming to Sheffield, courtesy of Sheffield Trade Union Council! See flyer attached
Our previous theatre productions have been really well received so we are delighted to host this latest Banner Theatre production “Rise Like Lions” – a political kaleidoscope of working class struggles with music and humour!
PLEASE, PLEASE HELP US TO MAKE THIS A SUCCESS. Put it in your diary now and tell others to come as well! (Staging shows like this is a financial risk for Sheffield TUC and we do need to try and cover our costs by ticket sales – please support us so we can continue to put on plays, films and other cultural events in the future).
Branch donations/sponsorship welcome
What they say about Banner:
“Truly inspirational”. Tony Benn
“We need Banner’s anti-cuts, anti-tax dodgers and pro-union productions to raise awareness and challenge the myths propagated by the corporate media.” Mark Serwotka, General Secretary, PCS
”I loved the show’s powerful mix of song, music, theatre and video footage and its strong line about GERM (the Global Education Reform Movement) and about the innovative tactics the Chicago Teachres’ Union used to resist attacks on public education in Chicago.” Kevin Courtney, Deputy General Secretary, National Union of Teachers
