Saturday 4th October      Sheffield Nablus Live Link Concert

5pm Crookes Social Club, Mulehouse Road, S10 1TD In Solidarity with Palestine

Sheffield Nablus 2025 – the live-link concert is back for a third year!

The live-link will run from 5pm to 7pm with performances from Nablus and Sheffield, followed by food and an evening of live artists featuring Tayo Aluko, followed by the Juju Club decks.

In recent years, Sheffield has forged close cultural and educational links with Nablus in the West Bank. In 2024, the two cities signed an official Declaration of Friendship.

The Sheffield Nablus live-link concert is organised by Palfest Sheffield, Sheffield Nablus Twinning Association and Nablus partners, Seeds Association for Development and Culture. The unique format delivers a diverse evening of music, dance and spoken word, with performances alternating between the two cities. Audiences in Nablus and Sheffield and share the experience via live-link screens. Last year’s event saw Crookes Social Club filled to capacity.

“We’re thrilled that the multi-talented artist and activist Tayo Aluko will be on the bill, alongside quality jazz musicians like Graham Jones and Peter Watt. Sheffield’s unique, women’s Palestine solidarity choir, Tadhamon, will be sharing powerful messages sung in both English and Arabic.”

Two hours of performance will be followed by an interval with food before Sheffield’s JuJu Club takes to the decks and gets everyone on their feet.

Proceeds from the concert will go to the Nablus-based, Seeds Association for Development and Culture. Seeds runs community projects and responds to local emergencies through a network of just under 350 volunteers. The association is also supporting the emergency effort in Gaza, through nutrition hubs and a blood donation campaign.

Tickets are £15, £10 for low-waged, or watching online. Additional donations welcomed. Tickets are available at: SheffieldNabluslivelink

Thursday 23rd October Climate Conversations

7pm – 9pm Doors at 6:40pm 38 Mappin St Sheffield City Centre S1 4DT

Climate Conversations Sheffield presents the Barstool Project findings

What does the average citizen think about climate change and what to do about it? We present our research from the streets of Sheffield.

“We (Lauren Jones and Dr “Kathy Aston) are Climate Conversations Sheffield, and we have spent over three years listening to ordinary people in shopping centres, markets, sports centres, parks, and other public spaces talk about climate change. We asked them three open questions: how did they feel about it; what did they think had the biggest effect on climate change; and what did they think should be done about it – and by whom.

The answers might surprise you!”
