Saturday 28th October Demonstration in Barnsley to defend the NHS.

Assemble 1130hrs town centre for 12 noon march. Flyer attached

Health Campaigns Together with the involvement of the major trade unions is calling this demonstration against cuts in services across South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw and the moving of hospital support services into separate legal entities. This is happening together with the establishment of the first “Accountable Care System” in Yorkshire, one of the first in the country, to implement the changes proposed in the local Sustainability and Transformation Plan. This is all being done at great speed, in secret and with little involvement of the public and their elected representatives either in local councils or in parliament. None of the five local councils will be represented in making the Accountable Care decisions. The Labour Party conference has just voted for the full restoration of a publicly funded and provided National Health Service. It is hoped that this demonstration will be supported by campaigning groups and trade unions from around the country. It is being hosted by Barnsley Trade Union Council and Barnsley Save Our NHS.

Tuesday 31st October “Death of Justice” rally assemble 1730hrs Devonshire Green S1 4JL

March to Law Courts. The Orgreave Truth and Justice Campaign have called this “Death of Justice Rally” to mark the one year Anniversary of Amber Rudd’s shocking decision not to hold any form of inquiry into the infamous “Battle of Orgreave” where 95 miners were “beaten up, fitted up and locked up”. The Orgreave Campaign see it fitting that this decision was made on Halloween as we all know it’s the old monsters and ghosts of the Tory party who were responsible for the injustice then, that denies us justice now, 33 years later. https://www.facebook.com/events/1519912538051722??ti=ia
